D.A.R.E.

Drug Abuse Resistance Education (DARE). This is a program taught world wide. The program was recently revamped with today’s youth in mind and instead of an officer doing all the teaching; the students are encouraged to solve situations among themselves. Drug, alcohol and violence issues are still addressed as well as peer pressure and self esteem. The course uses a workbook and is 8 weeks long. Students are usually rewarded successful completion with a certificate, DARE tee shirt and graduation. They also receive weekly tokens as incentives. For more information, check out www.dare.com.
